New Look, New Address

Take a look up there in the address bar  ^^^

That's right, Lisa Loves Logan now resides on its own domain, www.lisaloveslogan.com! I was having a hard time getting some kinks ironed out at first, but I think I've got it working. Your patience is appreciated! Please let me know about any bugs or issues.

I also put together a little blog header to showcase some Cache Valley scenery. Graphic designer, I'm not. I'll change it out when I take a better/clearer photo or figure out something different, but for now enjoy a view of the Wellsvilles from Hyrum Dam.

This Thursday will mark four weeks of posting on this blog. I'm starting to feel like things are really up and rolling. I'd love for you to spread the word about Lisa Loves Logan to anyone who lives in, visits, or has any other connection to Logan and Cache Valley. If you decide to share this blog with anyone on Facebook or Twitter, or by email, just remember the address is now

I've always wanted to blog about my local area (wherever it was - frustrated restaurant critic here). I am a HUGE supporter of local, and I believe that small- and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of America. Lets support and report!

So, who's here and who's with me? Leave a comment, please! Tell me one fun, local thing you did this weekend.

  1. We actually went camping near Strawberry Reservoir this weekend, so nothing local but it was fun. I am excited to do the factory tours you talked about. I told my MIL and she wants to come too, especially after I told her about the Pepperidge Farm tour (Mmmm, love milanos)! I like the header pic and even if I don't get to try out all your restaurant ideas I love to hear them, makes me want to try out some local businesses here. So you are doing great at helping local businesses, even if they aren't local to you!

    1. Oooh, tent camping or trailer? We are getting all geared up to do some camping ourselves. How did it go with the boys?

Just remember Pepperidge Farm doesn't have a tour, but does have the store where you can get the big bags of Milanos. I still plan to report on the best parks and animal-related activities here, too, plus the best eating options with kids. Stay tuned!

  2. I don't know if you would be interested in this, but local artist Brooke Lambert is doing an art Gallery Walk at Cafe Ibis July 27th from 6-9pm. I too am a huge supporter of local and small business. I've been telling people about your blog because I think it's great so far. Green Canyon might be a fun one to do a post about with all the things there are to do up there. My husband especially loves the single track for mountain biking and we are planning on back packing higher up the trail (we've heard it's good to backpack further up past the very top where you can't drive anymore?? I don't know much about it yet) and doing more camping. We like it for a great (and FREE!) camping spot.

    1. Hey Petrice! I am planning on the Gallery Walk but the date I have for it is July 20th. Has it been changed? Here's the CVCA link, and it does list Brooke Lambert at Caffe Ibis, but it says the 20th http://www.centerforthearts.us/gallerywalk.html.

Green Canyon is a great idea. I used to camp there a lot. We haven't camped with our younger two kids yet, but we are getting geared up to do some this summer. Any suggestions for camping with kids?

Thanks for spreading the word about my blog. I hope it will be helpful to people!

    1. We'll be doing the Utah Festival Opera & Theater shows. Haven't heard from you yet about tickets you may want - did you get my e-mail! See you soon, I hope.

  4. I really love the belly dancing shows on the last Saturdays of the month at Indian Oven. The dancers are from the Shimmering Sands school at the Whittier Center (formerly the USU Middle Eastern Dance Club). Speaking of them, you can take belly dance lessons from Shimmering Sands, I have and it is good exercise and a lot of fun. You should contact the Whittier for a list of their tenants and the classes they offer to the public, they are a great resource.

  5. I didn't know Indian Oven had belly dancers once a month. How cool! I will have to go to that. I am pretty loyal to Tandoori Oven...but they certainly don't have room for belly dancers!

The Whittier Center website has the tenant list and some of the classes http://whittiercenter.org/tenants/. I do have a post in the works about the center, as well as the playground.
